Food Safety Officer (Assistant)

Doha, Qatar

To support the Food Safety Officer in ensuring that all food handling, preparation, and service activities across the restaurant are conducted in compliance with Qatar Municipality health regulations, HACCP standards, and company food safety policies. The role focuses on maintaining high standards of hygiene, sanitation, and food quality to ensure the health and safety of all customers and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Food Safety & Hygiene Monitoring

Conduct daily inspections of kitchen, storage, and service areas to ensure compliance with hygiene and sanitation standards.

Check temperature logs for chillers, freezers, and cooking equipment.

Monitor personal hygiene practices of food handlers.

Verify cleaning schedules and ensure proper documentation.

2. Compliance & Documentation

Assist in maintaining up-to-date food safety records as per HACCP and Qatar Municipality requirements.

Support the Food Safety Officer in preparing internal audit and inspection reports.

Ensure corrective actions are implemented promptly for any non-compliance identified.

3. Training & Support

Assist in conducting food safety and hygiene training for kitchen and service staff.

Guide new employees on basic hygiene practices and safe food handling.

Help promote a culture of cleanliness and safety within all restaurant departments.

4. Operational Assistance

Support the Food Safety Officer during external audits or municipal inspections.

Check supplier deliveries for temperature, labeling, and quality compliance.

Assist in pest control coordination and follow-up inspections.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Hospitality, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in food safety or quality assurance within a restaurant or catering environment.
  • Knowledge of HACCP, ISO 22000, and Qatar food safety regulations is preferred.

Certification in Basic Food Hygiene or Food Safety Level 2 (advantageous)

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong attention to detail and observation skills.
  • Good communication and reporting abilities (English required; Arabic is an advantage).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Proficient in using MS Office for reporting and record-keeping.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From QAR4,000.00 per month
