Food Server

Wipeout Bar & Grill on PIER 39 is looking for food servers. If you like high volume front of the house operations you are perfect for our team. We are currently looking for customer service minded individuals who are friendly, great team players, and ready to take care of our guests.

Created by the family who developed PIER 39, our history spans over four decades and includes three generations. Family owned and operated, you can expect to meet members of the Simmons family in our dining room.

We are looking for individuals that can maintain our service standards and be a team player.

Duties and Responsibilities required but not limited to:

1. Provides prompt and attentive service to guests and ensures that their individual needs are met.

2. Introduces daily specials and specialty drinks and answers guests questions about menu, wine list and pricing.

3. Suggestively sell and upsell food and beverage.

4. Takes accurate and complete guests orders/repeat the order before leaving the table to insure that the order is proper.

5. Keeps accurate record of sales and is accountable for proper money and cash handling operations. You are responsible for your tables and the collection of all payments.

6. Knowledge of POS computer system.

7. Assists with bussing and resetting of tables when needed.

8. Help seat guests when needed.

9. Ensures that bus station is properly stocked, clean and well-maintained. Communicates shortages of product to manager.

10. Communicates immediately with management regarding any guests issues or complaints.

11. Pays attention to guest and employee safety by helping to eliminate unsafe or hazardous conditions as they occur.

12. Cooperates with management by performing any other duties when asked to do so.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Constant (more than 2/3 of the time) standing, walking, lifting (up to 35 lbs.) and carrying.

2. Frequent (1/3 to 2/3 of the time) bending, kneeling and talking.

3. Occasional (up to 1/3 of the time) sitting, pushing, pulling, crouching and operating controls.

4. Frequent reading, writing, reasoning and basic math calculations.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

1. Works indoors, outdoors with constant exposure to odors.

2. Frequent exposure to noise, moisture and vibration.

3. Occasional exposure to heat, temperature change and second-hand smoke.

4. This position will be involved with the service of alcohol.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Outgoing and pleasant personality and the desire to serve people.

2. Good communication skills and the ability to speak and understand English.

3. Ability to work quickly and efficiently.

4. Willingness to follow directions and learn.
