Qualifications:
- Must meet basic requirements of local child care regulatory agency, including ability to pass background check
- Previous experience in catering or professional cooking in a childcare center, senior living, or restaurant preferred
- Food manager certification preferred, if not, ability to obtain food manager certification

Essential Job Functions:
- Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling food orders and food preparation and of children for potential emergency situations.
- Prepare weekly menus following Primrose-approved menu choices.
- Complete food order in a timely fashion, managing budget, food waste, and storage.
- Order paper goods for the school, including plates, utensils, toilet paper and paper towels.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
- Implement safe storage of food products, including labeling.
- Respond quickly to emergencies or safety issues involving children or coworkers.
- Follow health and safety guidelines, including sanitation and hygiene practices.
- Collaborate with other staff members and administrators to ensure the well-being of children.
- Prepare safe and nutritious alternative meal and snack options for children with dietary restrictions and allergies.
- Meet basic requirements of child licensing and other regulatory agencies.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the overall food service at the school, including preparing and serving breakfast, snacks and lunch.
- Prepare meals and snacks for school special events as needed.
- Wash dishes and maintain a clean kitchen daily.
- Oversee overall kitchen function.
- Prepare menu weekly using Primrose-approved menu options and considering individual needs of the students at the school, including dietary restrictions and allergies.
- Prepare and submit food order on time.
- Observe all rules and regulations at Primrose School of Aliana and the local, state or national regulatory agencies and health department pertaining to the health, safety and care of children.
- Attend all required staff meetings, workshops and/or school functions.
- Maintain overall professional personal appearance adhering to the guidelines offered in the Primrose School of Aliana Employee Handbook.
- Assist in other capacities that Director, or designee, determines is necessary.
