Foreign Language Instructor

Overview:

A renowned school is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Foreign Language Teacher to join their primary section education team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about introducing young learners to a new language and culture, and will create a supportive, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment. This role involves teaching basic speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills in the target language to students in grades 1 to 8, one a week.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver interactive and age-appropriate foreign language lessons.
• Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, participation, and respect for different cultures.
• Use a variety of instructional techniques, including songs, games, storytelling, and hands-on activities.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs and abilities of young learners.
• Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to students and parents.
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to support interdisciplinary learning.
• Create and maintain a safe, orderly, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Participate in school-wide events, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development sessions.

Qualifications Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Foreign Language, Linguistics, or related field.
• Proficiency in the target language (any one/two e.g., Chinese, Spanish, French, Mandarin, etc.).
• Experience working with children in an educational setting.
• Strong communication, classroom management, and interpersonal skills.
