Job Purpose:
Responsible for heading the team mandated of sourcing suppliers, evaluate offers and negotiate contracts for the supply of goods and services so as to minimize the total cost of ownership and any contractual risks, whilst maximizing value for money and providing a service responsive to the needs
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitor, check and analyze purchase requisitions
- Support and coordinate purchasing activities with manufacturing, planning and engineering departments to acquire inventory in a cost effective and timely manner
Review process purchase requisitions, purchase change orders and requests for quotes to suppliers- Responsible for procurement business system data input and integrity
- Check and support maximizing the purchasing team’s changes, supplier database information, error report analysis, and part number/supplier code information
Control cost analysis and volume planning for major commodities (eg- materials, components, equipment and services)
- Check, monitor the cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to negotiate highest quality at best value
- Develop new supply sources with purchasing team when vendors and suppliers are no longer competitive
- Recommend cost saving proposals including make-versus-buy analysis or alternative sourcing
- Interact closely with suppliers and QA to resolve quality issues
- Appraise performance of own team PMS
- Fulfill any additional tasks when required

Job Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent in English language
- Very good computer skills especially in office applications such as (Work and Excel, Access)
- SAP Awareness will be an asset
- Very good communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure
- Proficient in SAP Purchasing System and MS Office
- Able to work independently and interact with people at all levels
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor degree in any discipline preferable Engineering
- 15-18 Years of Experience
- Good technical background,
- Studies of Supply Chain will be an asset
