Overview:
Supervises labor force (including laborers/craft workers) and equipment related to the construction of bridges, retaining walls, box culverts and other structures construction projects. The foreman is responsible for field operations on the tasks assigned in order to achieve timely and profitable completion of each project. The foreman derives his or her authority and performs all duties with guidance from the Project Manager and Project Superintendent.
Responsibilities:
1. Complete tasks as assigned and, in the manner, instructed by the superintendent.
2. Overall management of laborers
Line out crew every morning
Ensure laborers complete tasks in a timely, efficient, and safe manner
Informing Superintendent of all crew needs
Timecard management
Making sure laborers have proper PPE for day's work
Following all E.E.O guidelines
3. Responsible for small tools, materials, and equipment
Making sure all needed equipment is available on the job
Complete daily equipment report
Make sure that all materials are properly stored
Maintain clean and safe work site
Document and report accidents and report to office
Responsible for making sure all safety equipment is on the job and being used properly
Hold daily toolbox meetings, perform site safety audits and do daily job hazard analysis.
Serve as the competent person on the project directing all crew members in a manner consistent with OSHA and their wellbeing.
5. Informing Superintendent of all changes in your schedule
6. Encourage and direct all employees in TQM methods and continuous improvement
Qualifications:
Knowledge of construction techniques.
Ability to read and understand blueprints.
Ability to read survey stakes.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of construction safety practices.
Good interpersonal skills
Ability to repeatedly lift 30+ pounds & navigate uneven ground.
A driving record in compliance with ACC’s driver’s criteria.
