Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage assigned crew members to ensure effective teamwork and productivity
  • Plan, organize, and schedule daily work routines for the crew
  • Ensure all work is completed within established time frames and meets quality standards
  • Enforce company safety policies and procedures, including conducting safety orientations for new employees
  • Maintain equipment and vehicles in good operating condition, including pre- and post-inspections
  • Prepare trucks daily with necessary supplies and equipment
  • Communicate with clients on-site and provide project updates as needed
  • Accurately complete and process required paperwork, such as timecards and work authorizations
  • Mentor and support the advancement of crew members through training and coaching
  • Perform landscape installation tasks, including sod installation, deploying safety cones, and calibrating application equipment
  • Identify and address horticultural issues, such as plant health, weeds, pests, and irrigation system problems
  • Implement maintenance techniques and recognize potential hazards or deficiencies in the landscape
  • Conduct quality inspections and ensure job site cleanliness before departure
  • Report job site safety concerns and potential problems to the Supervisor
  • Promote a positive, motivated, and safety-conscious work environment

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
  • Experience supervising and managing crews in landscape maintenance or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of horticultural practices, including plant identification, pruning, and pest management
  • Ability to program and troubleshoot irrigation controllers and systems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to complete paperwork accurately and on time
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including coaching and training
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
  • Valid drivers license required
  • CPR and First Aid certification, FCHP & BMP certifications preferred
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as standing for long periods, bending, pushing, and stretching
  • Commitment to following all safety procedures and company policies
  • Ability to travel to designated work areas as needed
