JOB PURPOSE / OBJECTIVE

The Insulator is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining insulation on pipes, ducts, tanks, and other equipment to ensure thermal efficiency, energy conservation, and personnel protection. This role requires precision, adherence to safety standards, and compliance with project specifications and IMI standards.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Follow IMI Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality policies at all times.
  • Execute insulation, outfitting work as per instructions and drawings.
  • Maintain proper housekeeping and remove scrap materials after work completion.
  • Use tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Report progress and any issues to the Carpentry Supervisor.
  • Assist in loading/unloading materials and preparing work areas.
  • Ensure compliance with PTW (Permit to Work) requirements.
  • Support team members and cooperate with other trades as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Education

  • High school or vocational training in related field.

Professional Qualifications (Certifications & Accreditations)

  • Insulation related professional qualifications.

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

  • Practical knowledge of insulation, and GRP work.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic engineering drawings.
  • Familiarity with tools, equipment, and material grades.
  • Physically fit to work in extreme climatic conditions.

Experience

  • 2-4 years in carpentry/outfitting/insulation work, preferably in shipyards or similar industries.

Languages

  • Basic communication skills in English.
