Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Apply the highest level of workmanship to all elements of the job: instructing crew members of the job requirements and insuring a quality installation.
- Adhere and enforce all company policies and procedures.
- Adhere to the site job schedule.
- Ensure that power tools and equipment are used properly with care.
- Maintain inventory of pertinent tools, equipment, system components, and hardware.
- Keep work areas, company vehicles, and warehouse space clean and organized.
Foreman Operator must understand, advise and instruct equipment operators on following tasks and effectively supervise the operators performing them:
- Conduct equipment inspections on all assigned equipment.
- Perform minor repairs and/or maintenance as needed to assigned equipment.
- Operate various equipment in the support of Solar Site Operations varying from telehandler, lull, outdoor forklift, backhoe, skid steer, trencher, track hoe, loader, dozer, mini excavator and other like equipment.
- Review project plans and drawings and ensure that the project is built according to design.
- Experience with basic tools, and be mechanically inclined.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Maintain equipment and tools.
- Lead and exemplify safe working practices.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Provides guidance and technical support to Strata personnel, Equipment Operators, temporary labor, and subcontractors on issues concerning construction components/applications and crew member reviews.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Minimum 4 years of commercial construction supervision experience and operating heavy equipment.
- Solar installation experience required.
- Experience in one or more trades (e.g., carpentry, roofing, plumbing, electrical).
- OSHA 10 certification
- NABCEO Entry Level Certification preferred.
- NABCEP PV Certification preferred.
- Must be able to read construction drawings/diagrams, and develop a working plan for implementation of design.
- Must be able to lead, and instruct crew members in a clear and concise way.
- Demonstrated knowledge of DC electrical.
- Basic math skills and reading comprehension.
- Work requires the ability to read and understand written instructions to understand simple processes and the
routine operation of machines.
- Minimum High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Appropriate licenses or certifications to operate assigned types of vehicles or equipment.
- Demonstrate competence necessary to perform the work.
- Solar Experience highly preferred.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
A majority of the work is performed in the field and requires extended overnight stays. Will be required to perform physical labor; at times, carrying objects greater than 50 lbs. The position requires the unrestricted use of hands, arms, shoulders, upper/lower back, visual acuity, depth, and color perception.
