Foreman, Rigging

Overview

The role holder is responsible for performing rigging, slinging and load handling operations safely and efficiently in accordance with given instructions and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Timely identification of hazards and risks in lifting and transportation operations in which he is involved, review and support documentation preparation, and propose mitigation measures.
• Adopt a cost-conscious approach to the utilization of equipment and manpower. Timely reporting of all work-related matters to Division & Department Management.
• Identify improvement opportunities in lifting and transportation operations to optimize cost, utilization and lifecycle.
• Lead riggers, slingers and other workforce assigned to him to successfully accomplish load handling objectives.
• Oversee inspection and maintenance of rigging tools and equipment, including load and functional tests.
• Perform front-end maintenance as required.
• Ensure that all requirements are adequately defined and that the company can meet operation, project/contract requirements.
• Ensure proper licensing and inspection are kept current and coordinate necessary maintenance and repair of equipment with L&R supervisor, TS Inspection division and Maintenance team.
• Stop unsafe activity and report any potential hazards to L&R foreman, supervisor, and safety team.
• Provide input for daily work sheets / crane time sheets for each project.
• Ensure that all requirements / documents / permits are available before executing the operation.
• Help train local workforce as required and share knowledge with the team.

Qualifications

• Timely identification of hazards and risks in lifting and transportation operations; documentation review and mitigation proposals; cost-conscious resource utilization.
• Leadership of riggers, slingers and other workforce to achieve load handling objectives.
• Ability to oversee inspection and maintenance of rigging tools and equipment, including tests.
• Ability to ensure licensing, inspections and coordination with maintenance teams.
