Forensics - Manager (Construction Advisory)

Role description

  • Run construction audit engagements from start to finish, including planning, organizing, directing, and completing projects and services while managing projects to budget.
  • Directionally lead the INDUS Construction Advisory Practice, take ownership of projects, provide guidance to the team, and work on the strategic growth of the practice, client relationship management, and delivery of high-quality work-products.
  • Collaborate with US and INDUS Practice Leads on long term strategic planning, growth initiatives, feedback collection & integration, project delivery, and optimal resource utilization.
  • Communicate with the US Point of Contact (POC) and project leads weekly to understand INDUS’s responsibilities and expectations for audit engagements, document expectations and feedback, and ensure timely implementation of inputs received.
  • To review and analyze construction contracts, job cost reports, financial statements, time entries, material procurement processes, and process maps to identify cost savings, ensure timely deliverables, resolve process inefficiencies, and develop strategic initiatives.
  • Coordinate with multiple stakeholders to understand the construction project control environment and propose recommended controls to address identified gaps.
  • Performing complex analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies across multiple sources of data and supporting documentation.
  • Identify and assign daily tasks based on information from Project tracker, emails, and chats etc.
  • Review all deliverables to ensure they meet US and client expectations before submitting them to the US POC.
  • Provide project updates, address roadblocks, and share information on holidays, time off (PTO), and resource-planning updates to US POCs weekly.
  • Lead training efforts within INDUS to enhance team knowledge and skills related to project tasks and acquired knowledge.
  • Managing, developing, and mentoring staff on projects and assessing performance for engagement and year-end reviews.
  • Play a key role in future business generations by identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities.
  • Actively participating in recruiting top talent to the firm, including conducting interviews on campus and for experienced candidates
  • Budgets and Timelines: Ensure established turnaround times and the allotted budget are met.
  • Strong writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Skills

  • Candidates should have proficient knowledge of reviewing construction contracts, financial statements, job cost reports, internal policies and procedure maps.
  • Should have a good understanding of payment applications and construction documentation (including AIA forms such as G702 and G703), as well as contracts, subcontracts, and labor billing processes. This entails the capability to validate accuracy and assess contractual obligations and ensure adherence to both contract and regulatory standards.
  • Should be proficient in MS Excel and in other Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficient in overseeing and delivering multiple construction audit engagements, with the ability to multitask across coaching and training responsibilities, assess resource requirements for new projects, provide ongoing guidance to teams, and ensure timely and effective resolution of queries.
  • Should be able to plan, manage, and complete projects related to vendor audits, risk and control assessments, investigations, litigation support, process improvements and project monitoring.
  • Strong experience, including performing risk assessments and audits, performing walkthroughs, creating flowcharts, and designing controls.
  • Strong analytical, research, and organizational skills with strong attention to detail; should be proficient in MS Excel and in other Microsoft Office Suite.
