Role Overview:
The Forensics Tax Auditor works with outside police agencies and prosecutors to assist in the prosecution of criminal tax cases. Forensic Auditors must possess strong analytical skills to examine financial records and identify discrepancies or fraudulent activities. This position requires a working knowledge of accounting principles and auditing standards and procedures. Attention to detail with an ability to prioritize and organize work is essential for this position. Travel is required throughout the state.
This position is located in the Lafayette Field Office in Northwest Indiana. Residency in the service area is highly preferred. Travel is reimbursed.
Salary:
This position starts at an annual salary of $53,222 with the opportunity for adjustment based on relevant experience and skill sets of the applicant. The Department utilizes three auditor-level classifications based on acquired competencies and demonstrated skill sets. Salary for this position may be commensurate with education and job experience.
