Forklift Licensed Operator

Position Overview

The Forklift Licensed Operator is responsible for safely operating forklifts and other material-handling equipment to move, load, unload, and store products within the facility. This role requires strict adherence to safety procedures, accuracy in handling materials, and efficiency in supporting production, warehouse, or logistics operations.

Key Responsibilities

Forklift Operation

· Operate forklifts (counterbalance, reach truck, pallet stacker, etc.) according to safety standards and manufacturer guidelines.

· Load and unload materials from trucks, pallets, racks, and storage areas.

· Transport materials to designated locations within the facility in a safe and timely manner.

· Perform pre-operation inspections and follow lockout/tagout procedures when required.

Material Handling

· Ensure correct identification, stacking, and placement of materials.

· Assist with organizing warehouse layouts to optimize storage efficiency.

Safety & Compliance

· Follow all workplace safety rules and PPE requirements.

· Ensure loads are secure, balanced, and within the forklift’s load capacity.

· Report equipment malfunctions, hazards, near misses, or unsafe conditions.

· Participate in safety briefings and equipment maintenance checks.

Equipment Care

· Conduct daily equipment checks and basic preventive maintenance tasks.

· Maintain cleanliness of assigned forklift and work area.

· Complete operation logs, inspection sheets, and incident reports as required.

· Coordinate with maintenance teams for any necessary repairs.

Coordination & Support

· Work closely with warehouse staff, production teams, and logistics personnel to meet operational requirements.

· Assist in loading/unloading trucks, preparing shipments, and receiving inbound materials.

· Respond quickly to material requests to support production flow.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

· High school or equivalent required.

· Forklift Licensed is mandatory.

· Hindi speaker is mandatory.

Experience

· Proven experience as a forklift operator in warehouse, manufacturing, logistics, or construction environments.

· Experience using inventory or warehouse management systems is an advantage.

Skills

· Strong knowledge of safe forklift operation, load handling, and warehouse safety practices.

· Ability to read load charts, safety signs, and basic documentation.

· Good communication and teamwork skills.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to shifting priorities.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Contract length: 24 months
