Formulation Scientist - Dietary Supplements

Mackenzie Stuart is partnered with a fast-growing nutraceutical contract manufacturer seeking a skilled Formulation Scientist to join their team.

Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for performing formulation and process development activities associated with solid/liquid supplements.
• Prepare all required formulation paperwork.
• Preparation of product development reports and product information sheets
• Expected to prepare custom formulations requests from customers via Sales as well as in house stock formulations.
• Keeping the procurement/ingredient database up to date
• Involved in the recording of the developmental process for the formulations.
• Working with senior level management on interpreting results and designing next steps on formulations
• Working with Formulations Manager to ensure the product data and information is current and accurate.
• Offer administrative support to the PTM team.
• Offer technical support to the Sales team and Supply chain.
• Work closely and interacts with the production team regarding products that may need special requirements when in production phase.
• Research and gather information in a timely manner.
• Completing assigned projects with on-time delivery.

Requirements:

• Must have matric and a tertiary qualification (BSc, Physiology, Biochemistry, Food Science, M.S (Master of Science) Pharm. / Chemistry is preferred)
• Administration experience within in the dietary supplementation (DS) field
• Current knowledge of product formulations, product stability, packaging, and FDA submission methods, practices and regulatory requirements is preferred.
• DS Production (cGMP knowledge) experience advantageous
• Good written/verbal communication skills with attention to accuracy is highly required.
