Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated individual for the position of Formwork Carpenter. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in construction and mechanical knowledge, with hands-on experience in various aspects of building and renovation projects. This role requires proficiency in multiple construction techniques and the ability to work effectively on-site while collaborating with a team to achieve project goals.
Duties
- Utilize mechanical knowledge to operate heavy equipment and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Perform construction estimating to assess project costs and materials needed.
- Install rebar and execute concrete forming for various structures.
- Engage in hardscape projects, including landscaping features and outdoor installations.
- Operate concrete mixers and assist with concrete pumping as needed.
- Execute concrete finishing tasks to ensure high-quality surfaces.
- Read blueprints and schematics to follow project specifications accurately.
- Conduct plastering, trim carpentry, and frame carpentry tasks as required.
- Carry out roofing duties, ensuring proper installation and maintenance of roofing systems.
- Perform masonry work, including bricklaying and stone setting.
- Assist with flooring installation, tile laying, and other renovation projects.
- Utilize hand tools effectively while adhering to safety protocols on the construction site.
- Participate in restoration projects, bringing structures back to their original condition or improving them.
- Demonstrate heavy lifting capabilities when handling materials or equipment on-site.
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction with a strong emphasis on various skills such as carpentry, masonry, and concrete work.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation is preferred but not mandatory.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience using power tools and hand tools effectively.
- Knowledge of caulking techniques and stucco application is a plus.
- Previous experience on construction sites is essential for understanding safety protocols and workflow dynamics.
