Direct and coordinate all foundry activities to achieve high standards of safety, quality, efficiency, and profitability.
- 
Plan, coach, and oversee daily operations including production scheduling, inventory management, staffing, training, and employee relations.
- 
Develop and implement operating procedures and training policies to support continuous improvement and adapt to changes in products or processes.
- 
Collaborate with the MET Team to enhance melting, alloying, and casting methods.
- 
Work closely with the Foundry Material Coordinator to ensure adequate metals inventory for production needs.
- 
Identify and address training needs through individual and group instruction, as well as on-the-job training.
- 
Support Engineering in the design of dies and development of casting and melt procedures.
- 
Advise and guide Foundry Coaches in troubleshooting equipment, casting, and melting issues, and expedite problem resolution.
- 
Serve as a resource for foundry personnel and advocate for operational needs to upper management.
- 
Provide input on major projects, including new equipment installations and machinery upgrades.
- 
Actively contribute to employee retention and foster a positive work environment.
- 
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and uphold Spuncasts Core Values in daily activities.
- 
Perform other related duties as assigned.
- 
Bachelors or Associates degree in Management, Production, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 
Coursework or a degree in Metallurgy is desirable.
- 
5-7 years of experience in a foundry or heavy manufacturing environment.
- 
Previous supervisory experience required.
- 
Experience with production scheduling and purchasing is highly desired.
- 
Strong knowledge of foundry safety and operations.
- 
Excellent problem-solving, communication, organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- 
Proficient in computer and math skills.
- 
Ability to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, and lift/move up to 75 pounds regularly.
- 
Comfortable working in environments with high noise levels and airborne particles; use of required safety equipment is mandatory.
