Fountain worker/ Cashier

Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista to join Illy Caffe at Palazzo The ideal candidate will have a passion for coffee, excellent customer service skills, and experience in food and beverage preparation. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where quality and customer satisfaction are top priorities. Previous experience with POS systems plus, along with strong time management and sales abilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere while ensuring the highest standards of food safety and service.

Duties

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and other drinks according to company standards
• Operate POS systems including for order processing and cash handling
• Greet customers warmly, take orders accurately, and provide exceptional customer service
• Handle cash transactions efficiently, including cash handling and cashiering duties
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including food preparation stations
• Follow food safety protocols during food handling and serving
• Assist in food preparation tasks as needed, ensuring quality standards are met
• Restock supplies and manage inventory levels to ensure smooth operation during shifts
• Engage with customers to promote products and enhance their overall experience

Skills

• Proven experience as a Barista or in food service roles within cafés or the food industry
• Familiarity with POS systems.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse clientele
• Excellent time management skills to handle busy periods efficiently
• Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math, and accurate order processing
• Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling techniques
• Ability to perform food preparation tasks with attention to quality and hygiene standards
• Effective communication skills for teamwork and customer interaction
• Experience in serving, cashiering, and retail math is advantageous
