Position Overview:
We are seeking a detailed and proactive FP&A Analyst to support our growing business. This role partners closely with operations, sales, and leadership to provide financial insight, budgeting support, and performance analysis across multiple states. The position combines hands-on financial modeling and reporting with cross-functional collaboration, requiring someone who can analyze data, identify trends, and translate numbers into actionable recommendations. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, can quickly learn solar industry cost drivers and KPIs, and enjoys supporting non-financial stakeholders with clear, practical financial guidance.
Key Responsibilities:

Own the budgeting and forecasting for the residential solar business, including revenue, margin, direct and indirect labor, variable fees, materials, subcontractor spend, and overhead

Develop and maintain financial models to evaluate pricing, unit economics, market expansion, headcount planning, capital investments, and strategic initiatives

Partner with operations and field leadership to analyze installation costs, productivity, cycle time, rework, and regional performance, translating operational data into actionable financial insights

Track and report key solar KPIs, such as cost per watt, gross margin by market, install cycle time, labor efficiency, backlog conversion, and contribution margin

Conduct regular pay reviews and recommend compensation strategies

Complete project cost analyses and lead operations and field leadership through cost improvement exercises

Analyze monthly and quarterly financial results, identifying variances to plan, underlying drivers, and opportunities for cost optimization or margin improvement

Support executive decision-making through clear financial reporting, dashboards, and ad-hoc analysis related to growth initiatives, operational improvements, and risk management
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field

2-4+ years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or operations finance (renewable energy, construction, or project-based industries preferred)

Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and analytical skills

Advanced Excel skills and demonstrated experience with BI tools, CRMs, and ERP systems

Ability to translate complex financial data into clear business insights

Comfortable partnering with operational leaders in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment

Self-starter mentality with ability to prioritize and manage multiple requests and stakeholders

Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
