Job Description:
A strategic and highly analytical FP&A leader who thrives in a fast‑paced environment supporting Shipping revenue and Engineering investment. You bring strong financial rigor, the ability to translate data into insights, and a partnership‑oriented mindset. You operate comfortably across Product, Engineering, and Business teams, ensuring financial clarity, investment discipline, and alignment between engineering spend and revenue outcomes.
Lead the annual budget, monthly forecast, and actuals process for Engineering investment, delivering both functional and project‑level views with clear insights on cost and headcount drivers.
Deliver Shipping revenue and profitability analysis, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities to inform business decisions.
Build and maintain robust financial models to support strategic initiatives, scenario planning, and data‑driven decision‑making.
Partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Business stakeholders to provide actionable insights, track performance, and influence outcomes.
Develop and support business cases, investment prioritization, and product financial analysis to guide resource allocation and strategic investments.
Monitor and manage costs, resource planning, and labor capitalization, ensuring accuracy and alignment within financial systems (e.g., Workday).
Ensure SOX compliance, audit readiness, and adherence to accounting standards (ASC 350‑40, ASC 985‑20, ASC 730), including support for audits and controls.
Identify and drive cost optimization and efficiency initiatives through analysis of spend, resource mix, and operational levers.
Provide ad hoc analysis and executive‑level support as needed.
7–10 years of FP&A experience; experience supporting Engineering, Tech, Product, or Shipping/Logistics is a plus.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; CPA or MBA is a plus.
Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and variance analysis capabilities.
Experience with Adaptive Planning, HFM Essbase, and/or SAP strongly preferred.
Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (including Power Query) and PowerPoint; familiarity with Power BI, Adaptive Planning, HFM Essbase, and SAP is preferred.
Compensation:
The wage range for this position is $130,000-$150,000 / year, with the actual pay dependent on your skills and experience as they relate to the job requirements.
Location:
This is a hybrid role, with 4 days in the Shelton, CT office required. (No relocation assistance offered.)
