Job Summary
The Art of Roam is looking for freelance event support staff to assist with our mobile beverage cart experiences throughout Los Angeles and surrounding areas.
We specialize in elevated coffee, matcha, and beverage service for brand activations, private events, weddings, retail pop-ups, and creative gatherings.
This is a freelance / independent contractor role with flexible, event-based scheduling. Hours will vary depending on bookings and event needs.
Duties
- Friendly, personable, and professional with guests
- Reliable, punctual, and adaptable
- Comfortable working in fast-paced event environments
- Interested in coffee, matcha, hospitality, and creative brands
- Detail-oriented and calm under pressure
- Available on weekends and early mornings
- Comfortable assisting with setup and breakdown
Requirements
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 lbs
- Must have a valid California driver’s license
- Must have reliable transportation and be comfortable driving to event locations throughout Los Angeles and surrounding areas
- Barista, hospitality, catering, or event experience preferred
- Must know how to steam and froth milk and have basic latte art experience
Bonus if you:
- Have experience working events, pop-ups, weddings, or brand activations
- Have experience with coffee or matcha preparation
- Know how to use a draft keg system as well as an espresso machine
- Drive an SUV or larger vehicle with cargo space for equipment transport
- Has some content creation experience taking video and photos at events for our social channels.
Typical responsibilities may include:
- Assisting with beverage service
- Pouring draft coffee and matcha drinks
- Making espresso drinks from a espresso machine or using a steamer
- Prepping garnishes and cream tops
- Guest interaction and hospitality
- Event setup and cleanup
- Transporting small equipment or supplies when needed
- Keeping service areas clean and organized
Compensation:
$25–$40/hr depending on experience, role, and event scope.
