Freelance Facilities Manager

Your new roleAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Freelance Facilities Manager to join a reputable organisation supporting highway maintenance across Yorkshire. This role involves overseeing multiple depots, ensuring facilities are safe, compliant, and fully operational to support essential highway and emergency services. Responsibilities:

• Manage multiple highway depot sites across Yorkshire, ensuring safety, functionality, and compliance with statutory and contractual obligations.
• Plan and oversee both reactive and planned maintenance works covering building fabric, mechanical and electrical systems, and external areas.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and service providers for cleaning, waste management, security, and maintenance services.
• Monitor service provider performance to ensure adherence to SLAs.
• Assist with facilities budgeting, track expenditure, and identify opportunities for cost savings.
• Support depot readiness for emergency incidents, including winter maintenance and severe weather responses.
• Maintain accurate records of assets, inspections, and maintenance schedules.
• Support lifecycle planning and coordinate capital works as required.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

• IOSH and/or NEBOSH certification.
• Proven experience in a similar facilities management role, ideally within highways or infrastructure sectors.
• Strong people management and communication skills.
