Freelance Grant Writer

Position Overview: The village of Weston is looking for a skilled freelance grant writer to assist us in researching, writing, and submitting grant proposals. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully securing grants for nonprofit or government entities. They should be able to effectively communicate the village's goals in obtaining funding for projects that will serve the betterment of Weston..

Responsibilities:

• Research potential grant opportunities that align with Weston's programs.
• Write clear, concise, and persuasive grant proposals that effectively communicate our objectives and impact.
• Collaborate with village employees, village Mayor and council members to gather necessary information and data for grant proposals.
• Customize grant proposals to meet the specific requirements and preferences of each funding opportunity.
• Manage the grant application process, including submission deadlines and follow-up communications.
• Stay updated on trends and best practices in grant writing and fundraising.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in grant writing for nonprofit and/or government entities, with a successful track record of securing grants.
• Excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives and proposals.
• Strong research skills and the ability to identify relevant funding opportunities.
• Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines and projects simultaneously.
• Knowledge of fundraising principles and best practices.
• Familiarity with grant databases and online research tools is a plus.
