Job Description
We are seeking a highly creative and skilled Freelance Graphic Production Designer with expertise in print design, digital display, and live event motion graphics. This role is project-specific and will primarily focus on production design, revising layouts and working with our graphic production vendors. Deliverables include large-format prints, wayfinding, event branding, and custom installations. In addition, this role may support the creation of digital graphics used during live events, such as presentation slides, lower thirds, and digital signage.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in working within brand guidelines, understanding the print production process, and collaborating with vendors. Additionally, this individual will contribute to the overall graphics needs for live events, ensuring consistency across all visual elements.
As a Freelance Graphic Designer, you will work closely with the Creative Director, the full-time Graphic Designer, Content Producer, and the Experiential Designer to ensure that all designs align with client branding and are visually compelling.
Key Responsibilities
Graphic Production + Design
- Creative Concepting: Develop creative concepts for event signage, including wayfinding, banners, large-format prints, and custom signage installations, ensuring they align with the event’s overall theme and client branding.
- Brand Guideline Adherence: Design signage that strictly follows client brand guidelines, ensuring consistency in fonts, colors, logos, and messaging across all event materials.
- Multiformat Signage Design: Work on various signage formats, including printed banners, posters, directional signage, stage backdrops, and digital signage used during events.
Live Event Graphics Creation
- Presentation and Screen Graphics: Design graphics used during live events, including presentation slides, lower thirds, full-screen title cards, and other on-screen elements that align with the event branding.
- Digital and Multimedia Graphics: Work on digital assets used across event spaces, including event screen backdrops and digital wayfinding.
- Multimedia Coordination: Collaborate with the Content Producer to ensure that digital graphics are correctly formatted for screens, projections, or digital displays.
Print Design, Production + Process Management
- Print-Ready Design: Create print-ready files with a deep understanding of color profiles, bleeds, image resolution, and file formats. Ensure designs are production-ready for large-format printing and custom installations.
- Vendor Coordination: Collaborate with print vendors to ensure that design files are correctly prepared, meet print specifications, and adhere to production timelines.
- Proofing and Quality Control: Oversee the proofing process to ensure all signage is printed to specifications and color standards, reviewing physical or digital proofs as needed.
Collaboration + Execution
- Client Collaboration: Work closely with the Creative Director and Account Managers to understand client needs, translating them into effective, visually appealing signage and live event graphics.
- Team Collaboration: Partner with the Experiential Designer to integrate signage and graphics into the broader event environment, ensuring visual consistency and cohesion with other event elements (furniture, branding, etc.).
- Onsite Adaptability: Assist with onsite changes and adjustments to signage and graphics as needed to meet evolving event setups and client requests.
Qualifications / Skills:
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in print signage design and event graphics. Experience working on large-format signage and graphics for live events is highly preferred.
- Print and Digital Expertise: Strong understanding of both print production processes and digital graphics design, including preparing files for print and digital displays.
- Branding Skills: Experience working within client brand guidelines to maintain consistency across various event elements.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, After Effects) for both print and digital design.
- Creative and Conceptual Thinking: Ability to develop creative and visually engaging signage and graphics that elevate live events and create impactful brand experiences.
- Collaboration: Strong teamwork skills, with the ability to work closely with internal teams, clients, and external vendors to ensure the seamless execution of graphics and signage projects.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in creating print-ready files and ensuring quality control across all signage and digital assets.

- Remote work flexibility available, with occasional travel for on-site support during event installations if required.
Hourly Rate: $40 - $60 hr. based on experience and portfolio.
Contract Period: 90-days / potential contract-to-hire.
