ABOUT THE POSITION

HART is looking for a creative, organized and technically-skilled Jewelry Designer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a big creative impact at a fast-growing brand with international growth ambitions and major design collaborations in the pipeline (with partners from top tier influencers, record labels, to cool fashion brands). You will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing and drafting tech-packs and CADs, as well working with Product Development Manager to handle technical details, revisions and approvals during sampling.

The designer will work closely with the Chief Creative Officer and Product Development Manager for trend forecasting, conceptualization, development and production. The ideal candidate has in-depth technical knowledge of fashion jewelry construction, high standards for quality, and a keen eye for timeless, cool design. They can work quickly, “get it,” and thrive in a communicative, collaborative environment.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Jewelry Design or Jewelry Arts
  • Significant CAD and model making training and experience
  • Expert skill-set, with high effectiveness and efficiency in Rhino, Adobe CS or other design software
  • Manufacturing knowledge of jewelry and/or other related industries
  • Formal creative design training and experience, with a innate sense of high-design and cool-factor
  • Extensive experience working with fashion jewelry materiality (brass, enamel, sterling, gold-plating)
  • Experience of fine-jewelry craftsmanship is a plus (metalsmithing and gemological expertise)
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Passionate, curious and kind team player with a collaborative spirit and a high level of professionalism and enthusiasm.
  • Fast-working and adaptable mindset to meet urgent timelines under high demand conditions.
  • A proactive, self-starting individual who doesn’t need micro-management.
  • Solutions-oriented who doesn’t wait to be asked.

This is a part-time or consulting role to start (20-30 hrs/ week) to start. Pending performance and company fit, this role has the potential to move into a full-time position – remote (USA) or based in our office in Charleston, SC.
