Freelance - Video & Digital Media Production

Description:

Cottage Door Press is a children’s publishing company with expanding product lines across books and consumer products. We are seeking a freelance Video Editor & Motion Designer to create digital marketing content, primarily video, across multiple brands.

This role works directly with the Design Director to produce video content for marketing, product demos, and social channels. The primary focus is editing and motion graphics, with opportunities to support additional production work depending on experience and availability.

Video Editing & Motion Graphics

• Edit marketing and social media videos for YouTube, Instagram, Amazon, and other digital platforms
• Create motion graphics and animations using After Effects, working within existing templates and brand systems
• Develop short-form video content and supporting social assets
• Adapt content for multiple formats (16:9, vertical, etc.) optimized for platform performance

Asset Preparation & Delivery

• Prepare final video deliverables, including captioning, exporting, in multiple formats
• Maintain organized project files and follow established workflows

Production Support (In-House / As Needed)

• Assist with filming product and marketing content
• Support light production tasks during shoots

Requirements:

Requirements

• Experience in video editing and motion graphics (freelance, professional, or portfolio-based)
• Proficiency in Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro, and Adobe Creative Suite
• Familiarity with short-form and social media video formats (Reels, Shorts, etc.)
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and manage assigned tasks efficiently

Optional Qualifications

• Experience creating product-focused or eCommerce video content
• Familiarity with Canva for quick-turnaround content
• Comfort working within templated creative systems

Additional Information

• This is a project-based freelance role
• Scope may vary based on workload and individual strengths, with potential for expanded project ownership over time
• In-house support (including filming) may be requested for local candidates
