The Freight & Clearance Coordinator is responsible for managing the end-to-end import and export clearance process, ensuring that all shipments comply with UAE customs and government regulations. The role involves coordinating with freight forwarders, clearing agents, and government authorities to guarantee timely clearance and delivery of goods, while maintaining accurate documentation and supporting internal teams in all logistical and regulatory aspects.
Responsibilities
Prepare and process all documentation required for customs clearance, Dubai Municipality, FTA, and other regulatory authorities.
Coordinate with freight forwarders and shipping lines for inbound and outbound shipments.
Ensure compliance with UAE customs regulations, food control procedures, and import/export documentation standards.
Manage online submissions via Dubai Trade, E-Mirsal, DM Portal, and Foodwatch.
Track shipments, update stakeholders on clearance status, and ensure timely release of goods.
Verify HS codes, shipment details, and accuracy of shipping and invoice documentation.
Handle all inspection bookings with Dubai Municipality and coordinate for product testing or labeling.
Liaise with internal teams (procurement, finance, supply chain, warehouse) for smooth flow of information and documents.
Maintain accurate filing systems and records of import/export transactions.
Continuously monitor changes in UAE import/export regulations and update internal stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Business Administration.
Minimum 2-4 years of experience in freight forwarding, customs clearance, or logistics coordination in the UAE.
Experience working with governmental portals (Dubai Trade, E-Mirsal, Foodwatch, DM Portal).
Proficiency in English; Arabic is an advantage.
Strong communication, documentation, and multitasking skills.
Technical Skills Required
Ability to communicate in Arabic.
Experience handling food control documentation and regulatory submissions.
Knowledge of supply chain or warehouse management systems.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills relevant to shipment logistics.
