The Opportunity

Leavitt Machinery is looking for a detail-oriented Freight Coordinator to join our team in Phoenix, Arizona. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating equipment freight for rental customers, while collaborating with the Rental department to ensure smooth and efficient delivery and return of rented equipment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

As the Freight Coordinator, your key responsibilities will include:

• Provide transportation quotes to external customers as well as the Sales and Service departments
• Collect transport costs for rental equipment
• Schedule freight deliveries and returns in the most efficient and cost-effective manner
• Coordinate and execute maintenance schedules and repairs for freight vehicles
• Coordinate with third party providers to supply transportation to our customers
• Ensure optimal utilization of freight trucks
• Assess market rates to ensure freight is charged effectively
• Ensure driver credentials adhere to company requirements
• Assist the Rental department with drafting contracts and arranging repairs for returned equipment as needed

Required Skills & Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, knowledge, and competencies:

• 1 to 3 years of prior work experience related to equipment rental coordination or dispatching
• Knowledge of the material handling equipment industry and products a strong asset
• Strong knowledge of the Phoenix area for the pickup and delivery of equipment
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing demands in paralell
• Self-starter with the ability to work effectively autonomously

The base pay range for this role is: $45,300 to $62,300 per year, depending on experience.

This is an onsite role based in Phoenix, Arizona.
