Profile - Freight Forwarding Manager (Import & Export)
Qualification - Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Commerce, or Engineering.+ Certification/Diploma in Import & Export Management preferred.
Experience- Min 8–15 years of experience in freight forwarding or EXIM operations.Experience handling industrial, bulk, or DG cargo preferred.
Salary - Upto 10 LPA CTC

Job Summary:
The Freight Forwarding Manager will be responsible for end-to-end management of import and export logistics operations, ensuring timely, compliant, and cost-effective movement of goods across international borders.
Key Responsibilities
Import Operations:
* Manage end-to-end import shipments (sea, air, road).
* Coordinate with overseas suppliers, freight agents, CHAs, shipping lines, and transporters.
* Oversee customs clearance documentation such as BL/AWB, Invoice, Packing List, COO, MSDS, BOE, etc.
* Ensure correct HSN classification, duty assessment, and regulatory compliance.
* Handle DG cargo, bulk cargo, project imports, and resolve clearance issues.
Export Operations:
* Manage export logistics from factory to destination.
* Plan container stuffing, sealing, and shipping schedules.
* Ensure compliance with export documentation including Shipping Bill, LUT/Bond, COO, Insurance.
* Coordinate with shipping lines and track shipments till delivery.
Freight & Cost Management:
* Negotiate freight rates and contracts.
* Monitor logistics costs and validate freight invoices.
* Control demurrage, detention, and ancillary charges.
* Prepare logistics MIS and cost analysis reports.
Compliance & Documentation:
* Ensure adherence to Customs Act, DGFT, FEMA, GST, and EXIM Policy.
* Maintain records for audits and inspections.
* Stay updated on regulatory changes.
Stakeholder Coordination:
* Coordinate with CHAs, ports, CFS, transporters, and internal teams.
* Support finance team with landed cost and reconciliations.
* Escalate and resolve operational bottlenecks.
Process Improvement & Team Management:
* Develop SOPs for import/export.
* Drive process optimization initiatives.
* Manage and mentor logistics staff.
* Support ERP/SAP-based logistics systems.
Key Skills
* Strong knowledge of import/export procedures and customs operations.
* Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
* Proficiency in SAP/ERP and MS Excel.
* Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
KPIs:
* On-time shipment clearance and delivery.
* Reduction in logistics cost and delays.
* Compliance and audit performance.
