Role Summary
The French Teacher is responsible for teaching French language and culture to students, helping them develop proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The teacher should foster an engaging learning environment while integrating modern teaching techniques and cultural understanding.
Key ResponsibilitiesTeaching & Learning
- Teach French language (basic to advanced levels as per grade).
- Introduce students to French culture, vocabulary, grammar, and phonetics.
- Prepare structured lesson plans, worksheets, and interactive activities.
- Use creative teaching methods such as role play, dialogues, storytelling, songs, and audio-visual aids.
- Conduct regular assessments to evaluate language proficiency and provide feedback.
Curriculum & Assessment
- Develop and update curriculum materials based on the school’s academic framework (CBSE/IB/IGCSE/ICSE).
- Prepare question papers, assignments, and evaluation tools.
- Maintain accurate records of students’ performance and progress.
Classroom Management
- Create a positive, inclusive, and well-disciplined learning environment.
- Ensure students actively participate in conversations, group activities, and oral exercises.
Student Development
- Encourage participation in language clubs, cultural programs, competitions, and French-related events.
- Identify students needing additional support and provide remedial teaching where necessary.
Professional Responsibilities
- Collaborate with colleagues, coordinators, and school administration.
- Attend staff meetings, parent–teacher meetings, training workshops, and school functions.
- Follow school policies, academic guidelines, and child safety standards.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in French / Degree in French Language or equivalent.
- DELF/DALF certification (A1–B2 or higher) preferred.
- Teaching certification (B.Ed) preferred for school settings.
- Prior teaching experience in French is an advantage.
- Strong communication skills in French and English.
- Ability to use digital tools and multimedia for interactive learning.
