This VISTA member will be part of a cohort organized by Tulane University's Center for Public Service (CPS). In addition to AmeriCorps benefits, Tulane CPS VISTAs will receive housing in their downtown graduate housing building at no cost. The Tulane VISTA program partners with up to 20 non-profit organizations serving the New Orleans community to place VISTA members in high-impact, capacity-building roles. VISTA members work with one organization during their term of service on a variety of activities to improve the partner site's anti-poverty programs. Tulane hosts a weekly staff meeting for all our VISTA members to (a) review activities and projects and (b) provide ongoing professional development workshops to help build the skill sets of our members for success during their VISTA term and beyond. For this position, the VISTA will be placed at Friends of New Orleans Public Library, which believes that public libraries change lives. FNOPL works to ensure that New Orleans has an exceptional public library system that meets the diverse needs of the people it serves. Learn more at
