Front Desk Receptionist

The Front Desk Receptionist is the welcoming face of Dogtown. This role plays a vital part in creating a calm, friendly, and safe experience for our pet parents and their pups. You’ll support daily operations by delivering exceptional customer service, maintaining accurate records, and assisting with pet care while living out Dogtown’s values.

What You’ll Do

  • Greet guests and their dogs with warmth, professionalism, and enthusiasm
  • Check in and check out dogs by following Dogtown procedures
  • Manage phone calls, scheduling, and client records using the Gingr database
  • Listen actively to pet parents’ needs and confidently recommend services that support their pets
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front desk area
  • Communicate clearly with team members regarding pet needs, schedules, and special requests
  • Accurately collect and document grooming preferences and boarding requirements
  • Create a calm, spa-like atmosphere for pets and people
  • Observe dog behavior and assist with safe handling, bite prevention, and behavior awareness
  • Assist with feeding, medicating, bathing, and providing extra attention to dogs who need it
  • Follow all safety, cleaning, and operational procedures to ensure the well-being of pets and staff
  • Participate in team meetings, training, and continuous improvement efforts
  • Support team goals by being reliable, flexible, and willing to help where needed

  • Comfortable working with both large and small dog breeds

  • Reliable and punctual with strong attendance habits

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent work experience required
  • Veterinary assistant experience or dog training experience is a plus
  • Strong organizational, computer, and communication skills
  • Willingness to learn, grow, and continuously improve
  • Ability to comply with regular drug testing
