Front Desk Receptionist

Medical Receptionist

Position Summary

The Medical Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing front-desk operations in a fast-paced healthcare setting. This role ensures smooth daily operations by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, and supporting providers and clinical staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and check in patients in a professional and friendly manner
  • Answer multi-line phone system and route calls appropriately
  • Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments
  • Verify insurance eligibility and benefits prior to appointments
  • Collect copays, deductibles, and outstanding balances
  • Maintain accurate patient records in EMR system
  • Scan and upload documents into patient charts
  • Coordinate referrals and obtain prior authorizations when needed
  • Ensure HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality
  • Assist with general administrative duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • 1–2 years of medical office experience preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance verification
  • Experience with EMR systems
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional demeanor and appearance

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
