PART-TIME FRONT DESK RECEPTIONIST - PUBLIC DEFENDER'S OFFICE

This is routine work in the Office of the Public Defender. An employee in this position performs work that involves the operation of a multi-line phone system and other receptionist and clerical duties.

EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:

  • Answers incoming calls and makes a proper connection to person or office requested; keeps records or updates the electronic case tracking system of calls and messages that cannot be delivered immediately; answers routine non-technical questions and refers other questions to proper persons or offices
  • Receives, sorts, and distributes incoming mail
  • Maintains order in the reception room
  • Performs clerical duties such as filing, typing, posting simple data, and folding/sorting letters

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Graduation from High School
  • An equivalency diploma issued by a State Department of Education may be substituted for high school graduation
