Patient Access Representative
Job Description:
As a Patient Access Representative (Front Desk), you will be responsible for signing patients in, obtaining all paperwork, verifying insurance eligibility and copay information, collecting payment, and assisting patients with billing questions.
Responsibilities:
- Obtain HIPAA and HIPAA Consent forms and able to assist patients/parents with any questions pertaining to HIPAA
- Verify insurance, private and Medicaid, for eligibility and copay information
- Collect copays and account balances, and accurately dictate your money intake
- Transcribe patient information into DocuTap with accuracy
- Maintain a clean and presentable waiting room and front desk area
- Scan reports into patient files
- Answering patient/parent questions in person and on the phone

- Copay, EOB, deductibles
- Complete daily cleaning duties
- Additional comparable duties may be required that are within the employee's capacity
Requirements:
- Must be fluent in English and preferably Spanish
- Preferably at least one year experience with insurance collections
- Must have high school diploma or equivalent, or bachelor’s degree
- Must be willing to cross train to Patient Care Technician and work occasional shifts as needed
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Social perceptiveness and service oriented
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- BLS certified or willing to become certified
- Must be willing to work weekends and holidays
- Minimum requirement of 1 summer and 1 winter holiday
- Minimum requirement of 1 weekend and 1 weekday on call shift each month
- Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
- Will be exposed to multiple differed communicable diseases including COVID during each shift. Proper PPE will be provided.
- Must be willing to float between all locations if necessary
Patient Care Technician
Job Description:
As a patient care tech (PCT) you will be responsible for assisting with obtaining patient vital signs, collecting samples and perform testing, and preparing patients for exams.
Responsibilities:
- Obtain accurate vital signs and weights, document appropriately
- Assist during medical examinations and/or procedures
- Transport patients via wheelchair
- Ensure patient rooms are clean and sanitized
- Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments
- Take specimens and accurately perform routine lab tests, including COVID-19
- Prepare and send off cultures to be tested
- Prepare patients for x-ray
- Assist with hospital transfers
- Place orthopedic splints
- Perform some administrative duties
- Answering patient/parent questions in person and on the phone

Requirements:
- Must be fluent in English and preferably Spanish
- Must have at least one year of prior experience, preferably in pediatrics
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate’s Degree or higher preferred
- Must be willing to cross train to front desk position and work occasional shifts as needed
- Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Social perceptiveness and service oriented
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Familiarity with electronic medical health care record systems
- Basic understanding of patient care, medical terminology, coding procedures, reference tools, and appropriate clinical pharmacology for medical assistant scope of practice
- Must be willing to work weekends and holidays

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
