Ferraro's is looking for an energetic team member - Front End Sales/Counter Associate to join our team. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working in a fast paced environment, and values great customer service.

This person will be handling customer transactions, answering phones/taking orders, and providing fast & friendly customer service. The Front End Sales/Counter Associate will include packing up orders efficiently. Attention to detail is important! In this role, you will be the friendly face that welcomes customers, assists with product selections, and ensures smooth transactions at the sales counter. Your proactive approach and excellent communication skills will help build lasting relationships, promote our products, and contribute to a lively, customer-focused environment.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers warmly and provide outstanding customer service to create a welcoming shopping environment
  • Operate POS (Point of Sale/ Clover) Systems accurately for transactions
  • Handle cash, credit card payments, and perform cash handling duties with precision and integrity
  • Maintain organized merchandising displays and ensure shelves are stocked with current products
  • Manage inventory by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and assisting with inventory counts
  • Uphold phone etiquette standards when answering inquiries
  • Take food orders and catering/event orders
  • Maintain a clean work area including counters, equipment, store front, dining areas (Spring, Summer and Fall only - outdoor seating)
  • Answer guest questions about menu items, ingredients, and allergies (only if there is an allergy)
  • Answer guest questions about the history of our family business
  • Assist with opening and closing duties as assigned
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Will train upon hiring!!!
  • Qualifications
  • Previous retail sales or cashiering experience preferred but not required; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are key
  • Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures is a plus
  • Strong customer service orientation with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to perform basic math accurately for transactions and inventory management
  • Experience in merchandising, stocking, or grocery store environments is advantageous
  • Supervising experience is beneficial for leadership opportunities within the team
  • Professional phone etiquette and positive attitude required for engaging customer interactions
  • Can work under pressure and manage our busiest hours
  • Must speak ENGLISH
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S.
  • Must be able to stand for 6-8 hour shifts
  • Experience in the restaurant/deli industry
  • Experience with catering and events
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment
  • Have outgoing/social personality to interact with our customers
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Positive attitude
  • Strong Communication skills
  • Flexible Schedule - including morning shifts, day shifts, and Saturday's

**Pay is based on experience and will be determined upon hiring**

**This position is a mid/experienced level role**

Pay: $15.92 - $21.00 per hour
