Front Office Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and organized Front Office Assistant to join our healthcare team! In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a welcoming and efficient front desk experience. Your expertise in medical administrative support, medical records management, and familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems will help streamline clinic operations. Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing excellent customer service and guiding them through check-in procedures
  • Verify insurance coverage through insurance verification processes and update patient records accordingly
  • Schedule appointments efficiently using medical scheduling software such as Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth
  • Manage multi-line phone systems with professionalism, answering inquiries promptly and directing calls appropriately
  • Maintain accurate medical records by filing documents, reviewing documentation for completeness, and ensuring confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Support administrative tasks such as data entry, typing reports, managing office supplies, and supporting clinic operations with clerical duties

Skills

  • Proven experience in medical office management or front desk support within a healthcare setting
  • Strong knowledge of EMR systems such as Epic, Meditech, eClinicalWorks, or Athenahealth
  • Excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal skills to provide outstanding patient service
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and basic computer skills for documentation review and data entry
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), and insurance verification processes
  • Ability to handle sensitive information in accordance with HIPAA standards with discretion and professionalism
  • Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in filing, documentation review, and office management tasks
