Full Charge Bookkeeper

Comfort Keepers is an in-home care provider supporting seniors across Southwest Colorado and Northwest New Mexico. Our mission is simple: help our clients maintain independence while improving their health, safety, and overall quality of life.

Location: Durango, CO – In Office (Not Remote. Possible hybrid after 6 months)
Schedule: Approximately 25 hours per week

We are seeking a highly experienced, detail-oriented accounting professional to lead full-cycle financial operations for a high-volume, growing organization employing 60 team members and delivering 1,200+++ client service hours each week.

This is not an entry-level bookkeeping role. We are looking for a confident, hands-on professional who can independently manage accounting operations with accuracy, integrity, and strong analytical oversight in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee full-cycle accounting operations

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable

• Process payroll for 60+ employees, including related taxes and benefits

• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts

• Maintain the general ledger and prepare journal entries

• Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports

• Manage client billing, private pay accounts, and insurance documentation

• Monitor cash flow and assist with budgeting

• Complete and submit required franchise royalty reporting

• Ensure compliance with payroll, tax, and franchise requirements

• Coordinate with external CPA for year-end reporting and tax preparation

• Maintain organized, secure financial records

Qualifications

• 3+ years of full-cycle bookkeeping or accounting experience

• Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online with documented experience

• Experience processing payroll and managing tax compliance

• Franchise royalty reporting experience preferred

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail

• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills

• Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion

• Accounting or finance education preferred

Compensation & Benefits:

• $30 per hour for 60 days, $35 per hour ongoing. This is a PT, non-exempt position.
