Position Summary
DigiMax Productions, LLC is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced Part-Time Independent Contractor Bookkeeper to support our accounting and financial operations. This position requires onsite work at our Glendale office and will be responsible for bookkeeping, invoicing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial reporting, sales tax compliance, and general accounting support.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience with QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online, be proficient in Microsoft Office, and have the ability to independently generate financial reports and provide accurate financial information to management.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records and bookkeeping entries
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Create and distribute customer invoices
- Monitor customer payments and collections
- Follow up on outstanding invoices and past-due accounts
- Apply customer payments and maintain accurate account records
- Process vendor invoices and payments
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and loan accounts
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger
- Assist with payroll processing and payroll recordkeeping
- Track project costs and job profitability
- Prepare records and supporting documentation for CPA review and tax preparation
- Manage California sales tax reporting and filings
- Maintain resale certificates and tax-exempt customer records
- Track and report California Electronic Waste Recycling Fees (E-Waste Fees)
- Monitor cash flow and provide management with financial updates
- Maintain organized electronic and physical accounting records
- Assist with budgeting and financial planning activities
Financial Reporting Responsibilities
The successful candidate must be able to independently generate and provide:
- Monthly Profit & Loss Statements
- Monthly Balance Sheets
- Cash Flow Reports
- Accounts Receivable Aging Reports
- Accounts Payable Aging Reports
- Customer Billing Reports
- Collections Reports
- Job Costing and Project Profitability Reports
- Sales Tax Reports
- E-Waste Fee Reporting Summaries
- Custom management reports as requested
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of bookkeeping experience
- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Experience with customer invoicing and billing
- Experience managing accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Ability to generate, customize, and interpret financial reports
- Experience preparing Profit & Loss Statements, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow Reports
- Experience with California sales tax reporting
- Knowledge of California resale certificate requirements
- Experience with California Electronic Waste Recycling Fee (E-Waste) reporting
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in low-voltage contracting, security integration, construction, or service-based businesses
- Experience with job costing and project-based accounting
- Experience working directly with business owners and executive management
- Experience with inventory and asset tracking
Schedule
- Part-Time
- Approximately 10–20 hours per week
- Flexible schedule during normal business hours
- Onsite work required at our Glendale, California office
