Full Stack Consultant

Position OverviewWe are seeking a highly experienced Full Stack Consultant to work on a part-time, advisory basis. The consultant will serve as an independent reviewer of our software development output. Rather than directly engaging with the development team, the consultant will provide objective oversight, code quality scoring, and approvals on key technical deliverables including release notes, story point estimations, and post-release code validations.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in software engineering, architecture, and agile methodologies, with the ability to evaluate codebases and processes efficiently while maintaining independence from day-to-day team interactions.

Responsibilities

• Code Quality Review
• Independently review and score code produced by the software team.
• Provide feedback in the form of scoring and summarized notes without engaging in direct collaboration with the developers.
• Release Oversight
• Review and approve release notes prior to deployment.
• Validate that the documented scope of the release aligns with the effort invested.
• Estimation Approval
• Review and approve the development team’s story point estimations.
• Ensure estimations are realistic, consistent, and aligned with industry standards.
• Post-Release Validation
• Verify code integrity and stability after deployment.
• Approve or flag issues based on quality, functionality, and adherence to best practices.

Qualifications

• Technical Expertise
• 7+ years of experience as a Full Stack Engineer, Architect, or Consultant.
• Strong command of modern full stack technologies (e.g., JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, React/Angular/Vue, Python/Java/C#, SQL/NoSQL databases).
• Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines, code quality tools, and software testing frameworks.

• Process & Oversight Skills
• Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum methodology and story point estimation.
• Experience conducting independent code reviews and providing objective scoring.
• Ability to evaluate release scopes and validate development effort against deliverables.

Job Type: Part-time
