Role Description

We are looking for highly skilled MEAN stack application programmers who are comfortable with both front and BFF applications. Full MEAN stack developers are responsible for architecting and developing penny frontend web architecture, ensuring the responsiveness of applications, and working in cross functional teams alongside UX/UX designers, Product Managers, and other types of engineers. You will be participating in building product modules and features from conception to final product, requiring good logical and organizational skills as well as impeccable attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Design and architect the core UI components of the product
• Own and drive front-end features based on client and market needs
• Build elements for Penny.co and its workflows
• Write Typescript and HTML within the Angular Framework.
• Contribute towards improving engineering standards, tooling, and process
• Experiment with, prototype, measure, and create data-driven technology stacks

• Have strong experience with Frontend technologies
• Worked within and thrive in a BFF(backend-for-frontend) environment
• Enjoy building high-performant, scalable user interfaces
• Hold yourself to a very high bar for production quality
• Love to demonstrate, and incrementally build confidence in all the software you develop
• Love driving product modules end-to-end to deliver business impact
• Actively take into account resource usage and performance of the systems you write

Pluses

• Have hands-on production experience with the MEAN stack
• Proven experience implementing front-end applications
• Can read and interact with backend code
• Have experience building in APIs, especially through gRPC/connectrpc
• Have experience with NoSQL Database interaction patterns (MongoDB is a plus)
• Experience working with message queues, distributed caches, and ETL pipelines
• In depth knowledge of NodeJS, ExpressJS and/or NestJS
• Knowledge of static programming languages (Go is a plus)
• Linux + terminal experience
• Knowledge of multiple internet transports (gRPC, REST, Websocket, connectrpc, etc)
