Full-Stack Developer - Founding Team Member

Humanoid Robotics Marketplace & Media PlatformAbout the Role

We're building the definitive online destination for humanoid robotics in the UK and Europe - a hybrid marketplace and media platform that will become the household name in robotics. This is a ground-zero opportunity to architect and build a platform positioned to dominate an emerging multi-billion pound market.

You'll be the technical founding engineer, responsible for all technical decisions, architecture, and development in the critical early stages. This role combines the autonomy of a startup CTO with hands-on building.

Technical Requirements

Backend Development:

• Strong proficiency in Node.js or Python (Django/FastAPI)
• RESTful API design and development
• Database design and optimization (PostgreSQL or MySQL)
• Authentication and authorization systems
• Experience with CMS platforms (Strapi, WordPress, Contentful, or custom)

Frontend Development:

• Expert-level React (or Next.js/Vue.js)
• Modern JavaScript/TypeScript
• Responsive design and mobile-first development
• CSS frameworks (Tailwind preferred)
• Performance optimization and Core Web Vitals

Infrastructure & DevOps:

• Cloud platforms: AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure
• CI/CD pipelines
• Docker/containerization
• CDN configuration and optimization
• Database management and backups

SEO & Performance:

• Critical: Deep understanding of technical SEO
• Server-side rendering (SSR) or static site generation (SSG)
• Schema markup and structured data
• Site speed optimization
• Analytics implementation (Google Analytics 4, Tag Manager)

Additional Technical:

• Email service integration (SendGrid, Mailchimp, or similar)
• Payment gateway integration (Stripe, PayPal)
• Search functionality
• Version control (Git/GitHub)
• Third-party API integration

Highly Desirable

• Experience with AI/ML integration (for future recommendation engine)
• 3D/AR implementation (Three.js, WebXR)
• Interest in or knowledge of robotics/hardware

Experience Level

Minimum:

• 4+ years full-stack development experience
• 2+ projects demonstrating end-to-end ownership
• Proven track record shipping production applications

Ideal:

• 5-8+ years experience
• Previous early-stage startup experience
• Built content platforms or marketplaces from scratch
• Experience scaling applications from 0 to significant traffic

Technology Stack (Proposed - Open to Discussion)

We're open to your input, but initial thinking:

Frontend:

• Next.js (React framework with SSR/SSG for SEO)
• TypeScript
• Tailwind CSS
• Vercel or AWS deployment

Backend:

• Node.js with Express or Next.js API routes or Python FastAPI (Which I am comfortable with)
• PostgreSQL database

CMS:

• Headless CMS (Strapi, Contentful, or Sanity)
• Or custom CMS built on top of our stack

Infrastructure:

• AWS or Vercel
• CloudFlare CDN
• GitHub for version control
• GitHub Actions for CI/CD

Key Integrations:

• Stripe for payments (Later Phases)
• Google Analytics, Search Console
• Algolia for search (or PostgreSQL full-text initially)

• Final conversation (45 min) - Compensation, equity, logistics, questions
