The Family:

This Madison Park-based family is seeking a professional, experienced nanny to care for their two-year-old son. They recently relocated from New York to Seattle and are looking to establish a long-term, stable childcare relationship with the right person.

Their son is an active, energetic toddler who thrives on engagement and movement. He loves being outdoors, enjoys sports and swimming, and has a creative side — especially when it comes to drawing and books. He is observant and thoughtful in new environments, often taking time to assess before fully engaging, and he is also assertive and knows what he wants. He enjoys participating in everyday routines alongside adults and benefits from a caregiver who can confidently guide him while supporting his independence. He is also a great eater and sleeper, which helps support a smooth and consistent daily routine.

The family describes their parenting style as highly engaged and interactive, with a strong emphasis on positive reinforcement. They view their child as an active participant in daily life and encourage curiosity, independence, and involvement in the world around him.

Their previous nanny experience in New York was extremely positive — they had a dependable, experienced caregiver who brought both energy and maturity to the role. As they look to build their next long-term relationship, they are prioritizing professionalism, dependability, and emotional maturity in their next hire.

They are looking for a nanny who brings stability, strong judgment, and a genuine commitment to the role — someone who views childcare as a long-term profession, maintains strong professional boundaries and consistency day-to-day, and is dependable, grounded, and highly professional in how they approach their work.

Both parents occasionally work from home but respect the nanny’s role and autonomy during the day.

The Job Description:

This is a childcare-focused role centered on providing attentive, developmentally appropriate care for an active and engaged toddler.

The ideal candidate is experienced, reliable, and confident managing the rhythms of a two-year-old’s day — including transitions, emotional regulation, and continued developmental growth. The nanny will create a structured but flexible routine that supports the child’s physical, emotional, and cognitive development.

A strong emphasis is placed on engagement. This is not a passive role — the family is seeking someone who is fully present, interactive, and intentional in their caregiving. The nanny will actively participate in play, encourage language development, support independence, and create opportunities for learning through everyday experiences.

Daily outings and movement are an important part of the role. This role includes regular driving for school pickups, activities, and outings, and requires a nanny who is confident and comfortable driving daily.

The nanny will also support the child’s daily needs, including meals, hygiene, and maintaining a clean and organized environment related to the child.

Clear, consistent communication with parents is an important part of this role, including updates on the child’s day, development, and any observations or concerns. The family values a caregiver who is able to recognize developmental milestones and provide thoughtful insight and guidance to parents.

Looking ahead, the family is hoping to grow in the coming years and would value a nanny who is open to continuing with them as their family evolves.

This role is best suited for a career nanny who brings strong professional judgment and experience guiding families through early childhood development.
