Childcare Cleaner / Support Aide

Position Summary

The Childcare Cleaner / Support Aide is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, sanitary, and organized environment throughout our childcare centers. This position supports the health and well-being of children, families, and staff by following daily cleaning and sanitation procedures in accordance with licensing regulations and center policies. This position will be first and foremost a position dedicated to cleaning and maintaining our schools, with a possibility of working with the children on days that a sub is needed. Ideally, the candidate would start at our largest school (Jefferson) each day and spend the second half of the shift at one of our other schools for cleaning days.

When staffing needs require additional support, this position may also assist classroom teachers with supervision and basic childcare duties under the direction of lead staff.

Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesCleaning & Sanitation Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize classrooms, bathrooms, common areas, kitchens, toys, and high-touch surfaces daily
• Vacuum, sweep, mop, dust, and remove trash throughout the center
• Restock supplies including paper products, soap, gloves, and cleaning materials
• Launder classroom linens, blankets, and cleaning cloths as needed
• Follow all health, safety, sanitation, and licensing requirements
• Report maintenance or safety concerns to administration promptly
• Assist with deep cleaning projects during school breaks or scheduled times

Classroom Support Responsibilities

• Assist teachers with supervision of children when needed to maintain required staff-to-child ratios
• Support classroom routines including meals, naps, transitions, and outdoor play
• Help prepare and clean up classroom activities
• Interact positively and professionally with children, families, and staff
• Follow all center policies regarding child guidance, confidentiality, and safety
• Step into classrooms temporarily during staff breaks, absences, or busy times as directed by administration

Qualifications

• Experience in cleaning, childcare, or related fields preferred
• Ability to work independently and efficiently
• Strong reliability and attendance
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
• Must be able to pass required background studies and complete required childcare trainings
• CPR/First Aid certification (willing to obtain)

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
• Frequent standing, bending, walking, and cleaning activities
• Ability to safely use cleaning products and equipment
• Ability to occasionally engage in active supervision and interaction with children

Schedule

• Full-time Monday through Friday (we are open 630am-530pm- 8 hour shift plus lunch break)

Pay: $15.50 - $18.25 per hour
