Successful candidates are expected to:
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in VLSI and Nanoelectronics Engineering, including but not limited to:
- Computer Architecture and Digital Systems
- Digital Design, Testing, and Verification
- Hardware Description Languages (VHDL / Verilog / SystemVerilog)
- FPGA Design Flow.
- Digital ASIC Design (RTL to GDSII)
- Analog, Mixed-Signal, and RF VLSI Design
- ASIC Tape-Out, Fabrication, and Testing
- Electronic Design Automation (EDA) Tools
- Develop, sustain, and lead an active, externally funded research program in VLSI, IC design, and nanoelectronics.
- Publish research outcomes in high-impact, peer-reviewed international journals and conferences.
- Supervise undergraduate capstone projects as well as Master’s and PhD students.
- Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement of the Nanoelectronics Engineering Program.
- Participate in interdisciplinary research initiatives and collaborative projects with industry and research institutions.
- Support innovation, technology transfer, and entrepreneurship activities within Zewail City.
- Provide academic and institutional service at the program, school, and university levels.
Applicants should have:
- A PhD in Nanoelectronics, VLSI, Communication Engineering, Microelectronics, or a closely related field from a highly reputable institution.
- A strong academic background and established research profile in VLSI and IC design.
- Demonstrated ability to teach effectively in English.
- Proven experience with modern engineering education methodologies and laboratory-based teaching.
- A strong record of high-quality research publications and graduate student supervision.
- Demonstrated success in applying for and securing national and/or international research grants.
- Strong industry experience in IC design, semiconductor R&D, or related fields, with the ability to foster applied research, innovation, and technology transfer.
- Familiarity with national and international accreditation standards (ABET or equivalent).
- Experience in establishing and developing research laboratories and research tracks.
- Experience in designing and developing curricula and educational laboratories in VLSI.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
