POSITION OVERVIEW:
Michigan Nanny Solutions is delighted to present an exceptional opportunity for a skilled, reliable, and professional Full-Time Nanny to join a thoughtful and globally-minded family in Rockford. With one infant son and two first-time parents balancing busy professional careers that include intermittent travel, this family is seeking a long-term, career-minded nanny who brings professional expertise and thoughtful intention to infant care, and who is excited to grow alongside their son from infancy through his early school years.
This position begins March 23, 2026 and offers a guaranteed minimum of 37.5 hours per week, with a consistent weekly schedule of Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM. With both parents in careers that require intermittent travel throughout the year (never at the same time), flexibility for additional hours—including periodic overtime when one parent is away—is appreciated. Advance notice will always be provided, and the nanny will have first right of refusal for any additional coverage needs.
This long-term role is ideal for a career-minded nanny who brings experience, intentionality, and warmth to their work—someone who thrives in family-focused environments, enjoys creating enriching days for infants and toddlers, and values being part of a child’s story from the very beginning.

WHY YOU’LL LOVE THIS ROLE:
- A Curious, Adventurous Little Boy: At the start of this role, the family’s son will be seven-months-old, and his biggest fans (his parents) describe him as curious, already mobile, and eager to explore. He loves peek-a-boo, mirror play, sensory experiences, and interactive games. His parents are excited to see him intellectually challenged and developmentally supported each day, and they are looking for a nanny who genuinely delights in guiding babies and toddlers through each exciting new stage of rapid growth and development.
- Intentional, Education-Focused Parenting: This family believes strongly in encouraging their son’s early education by learning through play and exploration and thoughtful daily engagement. They hope to see structured, intentional activities incorporated into each day—including fine motor, gross motor, sensory, creative, and literacy-based experiences. STEM exposure, baby-led feeding, and hands-on exploration are highly encouraged, and you’ll have the opportunity to lean into the boy’s interests and help encourage his curiosity as he grows. If you enjoy planning purposeful days rather than simply passing time, you will thrive here!
- A Globally-Minded, Inclusive Household: These first-time parents can’t WAIT to introduce their son to everything the world has to offer! They plan to instill in him their shared passion for traveling to new places, experiencing new foods, and appreciating the diversity of other cultures and traditions. They intend to raise their son to be globally-minded and to appreciate and respect all cultures and perspectives from around the world, while also ensuring he has the space and support to create his own unique place in it. They are seeking a nanny who shares their enthusiasm for exploration, learning, and inclusivity—bonus if you’d like to join them on future travel adventures with their family.
- Thoughtful & Generous First-Time Parents: This family deeply values the care their nanny will provide their son, and they want you to feel appreciated and supported as a professional. They’re committed to offering competitive pay and generous benefits—including 22 paid holidays, 2 weeks PTO to use at your discretion, unlimited sick days, and a healthcare stipend—while cultivating a work environment grounded in kindness, appreciation, flexibility, and respect. They value professionalism, initiative, and open communication, and are committed to building a respectful, mutually supportive, and long-term working relationship.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Nurturing Infant Care: Your primary focus each day is to provide loving, attentive, nurturing care for the baby boy, which currently includes bottle-feeding, naps, diapering, sensory activities, floor play, and outdoor time. Introduction to solids comes next, and parents would love to learn from your previous experience with baby-led weaning! You’ll maintain healthy, consistent, and engaging daily rhythms while thoughtfully adapting to the baby’s ongoing developmental transitions as his mobility, language, and independence continue to emerge.
- Play-Based Learning & Developmental Support: Plan and implement daily activities that support fine motor, gross motor, sensory exploration, creativity, and early literacy. Incorporate songs, books, STEM-inspired play, and age-appropriate challenges that stimulate curiosity and cognitive growth. As the baby grows into toddlerhood and preschool years, you’ll equally be a key player in his emotional development, social development, and character and identity development.
- Child-Related Household Support: Your child-related responsibilities include helping with baby’s laundry and closet organization, washing and sanitizing bottles and dishes used during your shift, maintaining organized and engaging child-led, Montessori-inspired play areas, and ensuring nursery and shared spaces remain tidy throughout the day.
- Pet Assistance: The family’s first child, their friendly Australian Shepherd, is equally excited for you to join her family, and will just need you to occasionally let her out into the fenced backyard.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
- Experience: You have at least three years of professional childcare experience, with a strong preference for candidates who have worked in private home settings as a nanny. Extensive hands-on experience caring for infants and toddlers is essential. Preference will be given to career nannies with a history of long-term placements and a passion for providing structured, developmentally intentional care.
- Skills: You are confident supporting infants and toddlers through major developmental transitions—from introducing solids and establishing safe sleep habits to emerging verbal and physical development. You’re proactive in anticipating developmental changes and can confidently adjust routines as the baby grows, always prioritizing his physical, emotional, and cognitive well-being. You bring a strong understanding of early childhood development and know how to balance child-led, play-based learning with age-appropriate structure, sensory exploration, and early STEM concepts. Above all, you're highly adaptable—with the flexibility to accommodate shifting schedules and the emotional intelligence to do so with warmth, patience, and a positive mindset.
- Personality: You are upbeat, adventurous, and naturally at ease with people—someone who brings joy, energy, and a sense of fun to each day. You have a calm presence and a confident, self-directed mindset that allows you to jump into your day without needing constant direction. You thrive in environments that ask you to be both independent and collaborative, and you’re always thinking a step ahead to help the day run smoothly. You’re resilient, flexible, and open-minded—able to adapt plans with grace while keeping your focus on creating meaningful, enriching experiences for the child in your care. Above all, you’re kind, considerate, and deeply committed to building lasting, trusted relationships with the families you support.
- Professionalism: You bring a strong internal compass to your work—someone who shows up each day with purpose, integrity, and a quiet confidence that puts parents at ease. You take initiative, think critically, and make thoughtful decisions rooted in safety, development, and respect for the family’s values. You manage your time wisely, stay consistent in your routines, and take pride in creating smooth, engaging days for the children in your care. You’re dependable, trustworthy, and committed to growing within your role—viewing each stage of a child’s development as an opportunity to learn, adapt, and support them with intention. For you, nannying isn’t just a job—it’s a career grounded in care, responsibility, and meaningful connection.
