Full-Time Nanny/Family Assistant in Holland

Position Overview:

Michigan Nanny Solutions is delighted to present an exciting and thoughtfully structured opportunity for a proactive, energetic, and highly engaged Full-Time Nanny/Family Assistant to join a warm and dedicated family in Holland.

With two young children--a playful and curious 3.5-year-old boy and a joyful almost-2-year-old girl--this family is seeking a professional who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and brings both strong childcare instincts and a natural ability to support the flow of a busy household.

Mom is home full-time and deeply involved in her children’s daily lives. She is looking for a true partner--someone who can confidently step in to lead with the children when needed, seamlessly shift into a supportive role when she is present, and take initiative in maintaining a well-functioning home without needing constant direction.

This position is ideally structured as four days per week, Monday through Thursday, with a target schedule of approximately 36 hours per week. Each workday will be a minimum of 8 hours, with Fridays consistently off, creating a built-in three-day weekend.

Daily start and end times will fall within a range of 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with typical schedules including 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, 10:00 AM–6:00 PM, or 11:00 AM–7:00 PM. The family’s ideal schedule includes at least two days per week with later coverage until 6:00 or 7:00 PM.

The exact schedule will be thoughtfully determined at the time of hire based on the best overall fit and will remain consistent week to week. While the family’s preference is to offer approximately 36 hours per week, they are open to a slightly reduced schedule (minimum of 30 hours) for the right candidate.

Fridays will always be scheduled as a day off, though additional hours may occasionally be offered on Fridays based on the family’s needs, with first right of refusal.

This long-term position is ideal for a professional nanny who is naturally active, highly engaged, and takes pride in creating meaningful, developmentally supportive days for young children while also contributing to the overall organization and success of the household.

WHY YOU’LL LOVE THIS ROLE:

  • A High-Energy, Play-Focused Environment: This is a hands-on, active role with children who thrive on movement, interaction, and engagement. The family’s son is especially energetic, curious, and always on the move--he benefits from a caregiver who is ready to jump in, play, explore, and keep up with his pace. If you enjoy being fully involved in a child’s world rather than observing from the sidelines, you will feel right at home here.
  • A True Nanny/Family Assistant Hybrid: This role offers a dynamic balance between childcare and household support. When mom is actively spending time with the children, you’ll transition into Family Assistant responsibilities--keeping the day flowing, preparing for upcoming routines, and tackling tasks that support the household. Your ability to move fluidly between roles will make a meaningful impact on the family’s daily life.
  • Purposeful, Development-Focused Care: Both children benefit from ongoing support through OT, PT, and speech therapy. You’ll have the opportunity to play an active role in reinforcing these goals through everyday interactions, play, and routines—helping them build skills, confidence, and independence in a natural and supportive way.
  • A Schedule That Supports Work-Life Balance: With a consistent Monday–Thursday schedule and Fridays off, this role offers a built-in three-day weekend. The predictable structure allows you to plan your time confidently while still offering meaningful, full-time hours.
  • A Family That Values Initiative and Effort: This family is looking for someone who sees what needs to be done and takes action. Your effort, engagement, and follow-through will be genuinely appreciated and met with trust, respect, and a collaborative working relationship.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Child-Focused Care: Provide warm, attentive, and developmentally supportive care for two young children. You’ll take the lead in guiding daily routines, transitions, meals, naps, and play while creating a safe, structured, and engaging environment where both children can thrive.
  • Active Engagement & Play: Plan and participate in age-appropriate activities that keep the children engaged, learning, and moving throughout the day. This includes outdoor play, sensory activities, reading, music, and creative projects. This role requires a nanny who is fully present, interactive, and ready to actively engage—not supervise from a distance.
  • Support Therapy Goals: Incorporate recommendations from the children’s OT, PT, and speech therapists into daily routines and play. You’ll work alongside mom to ensure consistency and continued developmental progress through thoughtful, intentional interaction.
  • Family Assistant Support: During periods when mom is with the children or when downtime allows, take initiative in completing child-related household tasks. This includes preparing meals and snacks, washing dishes and bottles, managing children’s laundry, sanitizing toys and play areas, organizing children’s spaces, and assisting with light household projects that support the overall flow of the home.
  • Routine & Household Flow: Help maintain a sense of rhythm and organization throughout the day. You’ll anticipate needs, prepare for upcoming transitions, and contribute to a calm, well-functioning household environment.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

  • Experience: You have at least three years of professional childcare experience, ideally as a nanny working with toddlers and preschool-aged children. Experience with developmental delays, therapy-based care, or early childhood education is highly valued.
  • Skills: You are proactive, intuitive, and highly capable of managing your day independently. You anticipate needs, take initiative without being asked, and are confident balancing childcare with household support.
  • Personality: You are energetic, engaged, and naturally interactive with children. You enjoy active play, bring creativity and enthusiasm to your work, and take pride in being fully present. You are warm, positive, and adaptable, with a “jump in and help” mindset.
  • Professionalism: You are reliable, consistent, and bring strong personal accountability to your role. You communicate clearly, respect family dynamics, and understand the importance of maintaining a steady, dependable presence in a home where structure and follow-through matter.
