Title: Full-Time Family Assistant & Nanny (Early Childhood Focus)
Employment Type: Full-Time (40+ hours per week)
Location: McKinney, TX 75072
Proposed Start Date: ASAP
Compensation: $40-45/hour based on experience
Requirements: Able to maintain a smoke-free environment, has reliable transportation, willing to sign NDA, and has experience in early childhood education and/or Montessori-inspired childcare.
Schedule & Flexibility: This role does not follow a traditional Monday–Friday, 9–5 schedule. Hours will flex based on the family's travel, seasonal demands, and household needs, including occasional late nights and every other weekend coverage. Scheduling is handled collaboratively and planned as far in advance as possible, with an emphasis on clear communication, fairness, and coordinated coverage with other household staff to support sustainable time off.
Details include:
Full-time hours (at least 40 per week with flexibility to stretch up to 50 hours per week, particularly during travel periods)
No more than 5 days per week, with a consistent, reliable schedule agreed upon in advance
Some evenings, weekends, and longer days required during peak seasons
Typically every other weekend off
During travel-heavy months (typically June–September), this role will require travel with the family both domestically and internationally.
About Our Family:
We are a busy, private, health-conscious family with young children and homes in multiple locations. Our household values wellness, nutrition, clean living, and thoughtful routines, with a strong emphasis on creating a calm, nurturing environment during these early years. Our days can be full and dynamic, with periods of travel and shifting schedules due to both parent's demanding and unpredictable careers, which is why having a well-organized, proactive household team is essential.
We currently work with a small household staff and are building toward a fully supported, long-term household structure. This role will work closely with other team members to keep our home(s) running smoothly—whether we are in residence or traveling—and to ensure consistency, organization, and care across all environments.
Who We're Looking For:
This is first and foremost a childcare-forward role for someone who genuinely loves early childhood development and thrives creating engaging, thoughtful days for young children. Approximately 70% of the position centers around childcare and family support, with the remaining portion focused on key household management tasks that help keep the home running smoothly.
We're seeking an experienced, grounded, and proactive professional who deeply understands Montessori-inspired learning, child-led play, emotional regulation, and developmentally appropriate engagement. You naturally align with values like organic food, gentle parenting, low-to-no screen time, and intentional routines.
The ideal candidate is highly organized and systems-oriented, especially when it comes to children's activities, meal prep, routines, and household flow. You enjoy creating calm and order, are confident offering thoughtful suggestions, and work well independently while collaborating seamlessly with hands-on parents and other household staff.
Our ideal candidate is:
Deeply experienced with early childhood development and Montessori/Waldorf or holistic child development philosophies
Highly engaging, creative, and confident planning child-led activities and enrichment
Exceptionally organized and detail-oriented
Passionate about health, nutrition, clean living, and holistic wellness
Proactive and autonomous — sees what needs to be done and handles it
Calm, kind, emotionally intelligent, and grounded
Flexible with scheduling and travel needs while maintaining strong reliability and follow-through
Comfortable collaborating closely with hands-on parents and other household staff
Discreet, trustworthy, and comfortable signing an NDA
Fluent in Spanish or French (strong plus, not required)
Key Responsibilities:
This role is primarily focused on childcare and family support, which makes up approximately 70% of the position. The remaining 30% centers around key household management responsibilities that help keep the home running smoothly day to day — primarily laundry, meal prep, and general organization. Other responsibilities support the overall flow of the home and are handled as time allows or on an as-needed basis. We care more about the right things getting done thoughtfully, not checking every box.
