Position Details

• Position: Groundskeeper-Athletic Fields (Full-Time)
• Pay Rate: $14.00 – $16.50 per hour
• Schedule: Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance of athletic fields including mowing, watering, aerating, fertilizing and weeding.
• Inspect fields for hazards, damage, report and assist in repairs.
• Operate and maintain equipment such as reel mower, lawn mowers, tractors, utility vehicles, weed-eaters, line markers and power tools.
• Perform general landscape maintenance, including mowing, trimming, edging, mulching, and leaf removal
• Assist with field renovations, including seeding and top dressing
• Support irrigation system inspections, drainage systems and minor repairs.
• Load and unload equipment and materials for daily job assignments
• The employee will occasionally interact with the customer in a professional manner
• Follow all safety procedures and promote a safe work environment
• Report damaged, malfunctioning, or unsafe equipment to the Landscaping Supervisor
• Assist with the application of fertilizers, grass seed, and other treatments
• Plant and maintain trees, shrubs, and other landscape materials
• Water plants, trees, and shrubs as needed
• Perform light grading using hand tools
• Report property damage, plant diseases, dead plant material, and quality concerns
• Assist with snow removal when required
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements

• 2 year athletic field experience required
• Ability to perform all essential duties safely and effectively
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work
• Ability to follow written, verbal, and diagram-based instructions
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Basic problem-solving abilities
• Must have a valid drivers license
• Must be 18 years or older
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs repeatedly
• Must pass a background check, MVR, and drug screening
• Reliable, dependable, and positive team attitude
• Spray applicator license preferred

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to handle and reach with arms and hands.The noise level is moderate. PPE is provided.
