Full Time Janitor and Landscaper

The role of the Janitor and Landscaper is to maintain a clean, safe, and aesthetically pleasing environment for our employees, visitors, and customers. This individual will be responsible for both indoor cleaning and outdoor landscaping duties, ensuring that the grounds and facilities are kept in top condition.

The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to perform a variety of tasks related to building maintenance and landscape care.

Job Responsibilities

Major Responsibilities:

Janitorial Duties:

• Responsible for dusting, mopping, and sweeping offices, cubicles, common areas, breakrooms, and common areas.

• Cleans and maintains restrooms, warehouse floors, and cafeteria. This includes cleaning of the walls, mirrors, windows, windowsills and furniture.

• Empty trash bins and replace liners in all areas.

• Restock and maintain supplies for bathrooms, kitchens, and break rooms.

• Disinfect high-touch areas like doorknobs and light switches

• Report any building maintenance issues, such as leaks or broken equipment, to the supervisor.

• Uses floor machines for buffing, stripping, waxing, vacuuming and carpet cleaning.

• Sweeps and maintains parking lots and perimeter of buildings as needed.

• Performs light maintenance tasks as required.

• Sets up conference rooms and other meeting rooms for meetings and luncheons and clears them afterwards.

• Cleans the retail store locations as directed.

• Follows and enforces all safety and company procedures.

Landscaping Duties:

• Mow, edge, and trim lawns, ensuring they are neat and well-maintained.

• Prune shrubs, bushes, and trees, and maintain garden beds by weeding and mulching.

• Plant, water, and care for flowers, trees, and other landscaping plants.

• Maintain walkways, driveways, and parking lots by clearing debris, leaves, and snow (if applicable).

• Inspect outdoor lighting, irrigation systems, and landscape features, making recommendations for repairs or improvements.

• Maintain outdoor equipment, such as lawnmowers, leaf blowers, and gardening tools.

• Assist with seasonal landscape tasks, including planting flowers, preparing for winter, or setting up seasonal displays.

• Ensure that all outdoor areas are safe and welcoming for employees and visitors

• Uses all required PPE.

• Assists Facilities department as needed.

• Performs other duties as requested.

Requirements

• Proficient in the English language

Preferred Qualifications/Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred

• Valid CA. driver’s license preferred

Equipment Used

• Floor cleaning machines, cleaning equipment, and various landscaping tools.

Working Conditions

• The job is performed both indoors in a climate-controlled environment and outdoors. Work is completed in conjunction with co-workers. There is occasional contact with the public.

Emotional Effort

• Moderate: Occasional short deadlines. The work environment is occasionally hectic with occasional high activity, with great emphasis on teamwork.

Physical requirements

• Role requires some travel between sites/stores

• Fast work pace with constant standing and walking

• Light physical work demands lifting 30 lbs maximum, with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 10 lbs. Large or heavy items are moved by using appropriate material handling equipment and/or with assistance from co-worker(s). Safety handling procedures must be followed.

• Normal or corrected talking, hearing, and seeing abilities are sufficient to perform required tasks.

Pay Range

$18.05 per hour
