Full Time Math Computer Science Teacher (In-Person) for Elementary and Middle School Contest

JOB SUMMARY

ALPHASTAR is looking for an experienced Math/computer science teacher who is passionate about working with 5-8 grade students..

JOB DUTIES

  • Teaching year-round math courses to prepare students for elementary and middle school competitions such as Noetic, MOEMS, MathCounts, and American Mathematics Competitions 8 on weekends and weekday afternoons/evenings during the academic year.
  • Teaching year-round programming courses in languages Python and Java on weekends and weekday afternoons/evenings during the academic year.
  • Teaching at Summer and Winter camps
  • Computer science curriculum development: writing/editing problems, solutions, lecture notes, exams etc.
  • Other duties include traveling to computer science and math competitions/events and helping with computer science and math event organizations.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree (in Math, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Computer Education related field is a big plus)
  • Minimum 3 years teaching experience
  • Work experience in 5-12 school setting
  • Proficiency in Phyton, and Java
  • Proficiency in middle school math
  • Can communicate well with colleagues, parents, and students
  • Can work well in a team
  • Enjoy problem-solving and teaching
  • Passionate about working with 5-8 grade students.
  • Experience in writing problems, creating exams
  • Proficiency in Discrete Math and problem solving is a plus.
  • Experience in participating or coaching Math Competitions is a plus.
  • Experience in participating or coaching Computer Science Competitions is a plus.
  • USACO coaching or USACO contest experience is a plus.

SCHEDULE

  • 8 hour shift
  • Holidays
  • Wednesday to Sunday during school year
  • Monday to Friday during summer

START DATE

  • Latest August 10, 2026
  • Preferred starting with 2026 Summer Camps (Camp 1: Jun 8-26 / Camp 2: Jun 29 - Jul 17 / Camp 3: Jul 20 - Aug 7)
