The Maple Bluff Police Department is currently accepting applications for the position of Full-Time Police Officer (2nd Shift). This position offers the opportunity to serve a supportive lakeside community, guided by our core values of Integrity, Compassion, Trust, and Dedication.
As a Full-Time Police Officer, you will play a vital role in maintaining safety, building trust, and addressing a variety of incidents through proactive problem-solving and collaborative policing strategies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Community Engagement: Build strong relationships with residents and participate in outreach initiatives, including public safety events.

Patrol and Emergency Response: Conduct patrols, respond promptly to calls for service, and ensure public safety.

Investigation and Enforcement: Enforce local, state, and federal laws, investigate incidents, and collaborate with prosecutors and stakeholders.

Administrative Duties: Complete detailed reports, maintain accurate records, and utilize investigative tools effectively.

Training and Development: Participate in regular training to maintain certifications and enhance skills.
Qualifications
Required:
-
Certification by the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board (or ability to obtain).

U.S. citizen with a valid Wisconsin Driver’s License and a good driving record.

High school diploma and at least 60 college credits.

Ability to meet physical and cognitive requirements.

Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

No domestic abuse or felony convictions; vision correctable to 20/20.

Proficiency in using standard law enforcement equipment and clear verbal/written communication skills.

Ability to react quickly and effectively in stressful situations.
Preferred:

Previous law enforcement or community engagement experience.

Demonstrated commitment to procedural justice and community service.

Desire to serve, work collaboratively in a small team, and exercise sound judgment in high-stress situations.
Benefits and Incentives

Competitive Salary: Starting at $36.07/hour, with lateral entry up to $43.50/hour based on experience.

Lateral Opportunity: Lateral entry credit based on experience, education, and other factors.

Third-Shift Stipend: $1/hour additional pay for hours worked between 10 PM and 6 AM.

Annual Retention Bonus: Up to $1,000 for all full-time officers (budget dependent).
